A group of students from the Department of Civil Engineering visited the United Medical College Hospital construction site as an add-on activity for the “Reinforced Concrete Structure Design Sessional” on March 04, 2023. The department organized this site visit so that the students may experience different issues related to structural engineering. Students not only had the chance to see how realistically reinforcement is placed in various structural elements like slabs, columns, and beams, but they also had the chance to explore the knowledge they had learned in the classroom to actual engineering challenges. Professionals involved in this construction project shared their experiences in solving various critical issues which helped the students to broaden their horizon of knowledge.
