Site visits are important part of learning for civil engineering students. Visiting a real time construction project or design office allows them to develop a greater understanding of how civil engineering theory is put into practice. In order to incorporate practical knowledge sharing in the curriculum, Department of Civil Engineering of United International University arranged a study tour at the Mawa-Bhanga section of Padma Bridge Rail Link Project on March 13th, 2023. The site visit involved a presentation from the site team, brief Q/A session involving technical team sharing insights answering students’ questions, a safety briefing and a tour of the project. It gave them personal experience of a construction site and exposure to the latest technologies used.
