The “UIU-CE SEMINAR SERIES” is a public forum for the discussion of academic research that fosters the intellectual curiosity of our students. We welcome experts from a variety of disciplines to give a venue where students can learn about the myriad research projects being conducted throughout the world.

On March 6th, 2023 the Center for Consultancy, Training, Testing and Research (CCTTR), a concern of the Civil Engineering Department of United International University (UIU), organized a seminar on “Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Pedestrian Underpass and Tunnel Construction Project” The key speaker was honorable Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Mustafa, PE who is currently the Managing Director of JPZ Consulting (Bangladesh) Limited.

The objective of the seminar was to provide the undergraduate students an insight into approach of conducting feasibility study of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Pedestrian Underpass and Tunnel Construction Project, method statement of detail design, proposed alignment and tunneling method. Prof. Dr. Md. Anwarul Mustafa presented case studies of large scale pedestrian underpass and tunnel project in shallow depth. He urged the country’s future civil engineers to acquire the necessary knowledge on justifying the design and information for operating the procedure and equipment, cost and time taken before construction of these projects. Students and faculty in huge numbers attended the lecture.
