Jannatul Ferdows Nowrin is a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at United International University (UIU), where she has been teaching since July 19, 2025. Her academic and research interests lie at the intersection of transportation systems, data-driven mobility planning, and sustainable infrastructure development.

She completed her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), with a major in Transportation Engineering and a minor in Geotechnical Engineering. She graduated in the top 4% of her class and was consistently recognized with the BUET Academic Merit Scholarship and the Dean’s List Award.

Her undergraduate thesis focused on developing optimal feeder service routes for Dhaka’s Mass Rapid Transit system using a hybrid framework combining machine learning and behavioral modeling. She applied techniques such as Random Forest and Dijkstra’s algorithm to design demand-responsive public transport networks. The study integrated spatial and socioeconomic factors to enhance last-mile connectivity and reduce urban congestion.

She led a capstone project for the transformation of the BUET cafeteria into a modern café and study space, as well as a MATLAB-based project to automate material estimation for quantity surveying. She is proficient in a range of technical tools, including MATLAB, Python, QGIS, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAP, and MS Excel.

Outside the classroom, Ms. Nowrin has held leadership positions as General Secretary of Environment Watch: BUET and Additional General Secretary of the ITE BUET Student Chapter. She actively organized seminars, competitions, and knowledge-sharing sessions promoting sustainable development and transportation awareness.

With a strong foundation in quantitative methods, academic communication, and civil engineering applications, she aims to contribute meaningfully to both teaching and applied research in the field of transportation and urban systems.
