A special lecture-seminar was arranged by the Department of Civil Engineering, UIU, on 15 November 2025, as part of its vibrant curriculum and commitment to students’ professional development. The session featured Ar. Md. Ehsan Khan, Principal Architect & Managing Director of Ehsan Khan Architects Ltd., one of the leading figures in contemporary architecture in Bangladesh. A graduate of BUET (1991), Ar. Ehsan Khan has been engaged in practice, teaching, and architectural discourse for over three decades, contributing to projects that have significantly shaped the country’s urban and cultural landscape.

Ehsan khan illustrated how architecture and structure can be meaningfully integrated through examples from his notable works — including the Nishorgo Nature Interpretation Center (Teknaf), Kazi Nazrul Islam Mausoleum, Bangladesh Mohila Samity Complex, IAB Centre, Play Pen School (Bashundhara), “The Forum” 25-storey Commercial Tower, and “Pinnacle” 40-storey Commercial Tower — highlighting how form, context, and structural logic work together to create purposeful spaces.

The session was highly insightful and inspiring, offering students a deeper appreciation of architecture as both a technical discipline and a cultural practice.
