Biography
Md Asif Bin Kabir is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at United International University (UIU), Bangladesh since January 2022. His responsibility includes the Lab-in-Charge for Civil Engineering Department. He completed his M.Sc. at Lakehead University, Canada and his undergraduate studies at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh.
His research interests lie in the area of Structural Engineering in addition to the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in structural engineering domain. His research experience includes working on industry (CISC, NSERC) funded projects with strong publication record for both journal and conferences. He is a recipient of several awards and scholarships from both home and abroad.
Asif has both academic and industrial experiences throughout his professional career. Prior joining to UIU, he was a faculty member for several private universities in Bangladesh during his academic career. He has taught a variety of courses related to ‘Structural Engineering’ including the basic ‘Mechanics’ courses as well as has mentored undergraduate students both international and domestic level for their final year thesis or projects. He has attended various training sessions regarding Outcome Based Education (OBE) within the varsity he has served. He has a good collaboration for research with local and international universities.
Asif’s industrial career includes serving as a Structural Design Engineer in a consultancy firm in Bangladesh. He has supervised multiple significant projects and has appreciated as a technically savvy personal.
